Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 Casts Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze

While neither Disney or Lucasfilm has confirmed the news as of yet, Slashfilm previously broke the news that Rosario Dawson is set to play fan-favorite hero Ahsoka Tano in the second season. But take the news with a grain of salt for now if you must.

Bo-Katan’s return on the show makes a lot of sense. The last time we saw the Mandalorian warrior was in the Rebels season 4 episode Mandalorians live in hiding underground and why Din Djarin’s faction was eradicated at the end of the first season by the Empire.

But we never saw what happened to Bo-Katan herself. As Mand’alor, she would have led her people against the Imperial siege. The Mandalorian also revealed that, not only did she lose, but she lost Moff Gideon who carries the sword.

The fate of Mandalore and the reappearance of the Darksaber almost guaranteed that we’d learn more about Bo-Katan at some point, whether it was through exposition or an appearance by Sackhoff on the show, but this is also a very Dave Filoni move. The Mandalorian exec producer and director first created Bo-Katan for The Clone Wars before bringing her back in Rebels. The creator is known for reintroducing characters from previous shows and embedding them in new projects, as he did with Ahsoka in The Clone Wars and Rebels (and will do again with The Mandalorian).

In what sort of condition will we find Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian? Defeated and without a home to go back to, it’s likely she’ll be out to get revenge on what’s left of the Empire. Perhaps she’ll even team up with Mando to take down Gideon and get her Darksaber back!
